11/07/2004: "Atheists Reelect George W. Bush!"
As a registered Democrat, it was very frustrating for me to watch the Christian Coalition win reelection.
The election in November was a clear signal of what to expect in the future. The Christian Coalition turned out its members, and expanded its base through a marriage of convenience with: Jews, Catholics, African Americans, Hispanics and women. If we allow that coalition to go unchallenged, the margin of defeat will be even larger in 2008.
Rightly or wrongly, the Democrat Party is perceived as the party of the atheists, in a country where over eighty-five percent of the people believe in God. The Atheists will do for the Democrats what they did for the Soviet Union.
If Democrats try to out-religion the religious in the next election, they will look like John Kerry duck hunting in Ohio.
There is only one way to stem that tide; people, with a superior knowledge of biblical history, must challenge the credibility of the Christian Coalition and the Cult of Atheism on the merits. That will remove the religion card from the political deck, and level the playing field between Republicans and Democrats. America needs a vibrant two-party system. We are headed for one-party rule in a defacto theocracy - You won't like it!
