07/16/2004: "The Inevitable Confrontation With Truth!"

In the dark ages, the Christian church believed that the earth was located at the center of the universe. When Copernicus and Galileo discovered that it was, in truth, a planet orbiting the sun, Christian leaders had so much invested in their false belief that they could not change. Therefore, to save face, they imprisoned Galileo and continued to believe a lie. For hundreds of years, their followers were trapped in that belief and forced to stand in opposition to the truth.

Modern intellectuals admit that they do not know the truth; yet they impose their atheistic and religious beliefs on their followers as if they were true. If you have adopted one of these concepts, you will feel compelled to defend it as a truth. I urge you to keep in mind that intellectuals readily admit that they are not true. Therefore, it is inevitable, at some point you will be confronted with a truth that will disprove all that you currently believe. How will you react?
